Nelly El Sharkawy is a Conceptual street & architectural photographer, an architect and ballerina. Nelly's work has been presented in group exhibitions at venues all around Egypt including Zamalek Art Gallery, B'sarya, TU Berlin Campus El Gouna, SOMA art school, ArtsMart, Darb1718, Shnit Cairo, DCAF, Kasr el Fenoun, Photopia Photo Gallery at The Westown hub Winter Festival,El Sawy Cultural Center and many others.
Nominated in the Foam Paul Huf Award 2017 and in the Architectural top ten photos in El Sharka award, won two awards in the best innovative photograph in the Cairo Camera Club and The CIB prize in the 25th youth salon.
El Sharkawy is a designer and co-founder of the Cairo-based initiative Mashrou' El Saada, whose aim is to psychologically support people living in Egypt's neglected slums through the use of colors and creative designs.
She joined Cairopolitan in 2017; A Product design Store and Art gallery located in Cairo; and is currently the Managing Partner and Creative Director.
