Mayar Salama is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator based in Cairo. She studied
architecture and urban design at the German University in Cairo, where she later taught for two
years. Mayar's work is heavily influenced by her academic and field experience in architecture,
as well as her keen eye for detail. Her passion for studying cityscapes and visual culture is
evident in her illustrations. Her illustrations have been recognized the International Committee
of the Red Cross and Fairwork (Oxford Internet Institute), as well as 100 Best Arabic Posters.
She also worked as an art director and spatial designer for RiseUp Summit and Pitch by the
Pyramids.
